5.47 Personal statement

    简称ps（ps真是一个用途广泛的缩写……），在不少学校的电子申请过程中就可以网上提交，但有些学校的网络不支持此项服务。你所申请的学院会提供personal statement的写作要求，通常，学校会要求你阐述自己短期、长期目标，为什么选择该校、该项的项目，你如何在申请中胜出，等等，例如：

Provide a summary of your career objectives and relevant work experiences with reference to the chosen field of graduate study, and the leadership experiences and skills you will bring to your peer group.

·  Your experience as an active citizen in your school or community and the ways in which you expect to contribute to the MSU community.

·  Your experience combining academic and hands-on learning.

·  Obstacles that you have encountered and how you have overcome them.

·  Your interest in an MSU education and how you intend to use it to make a difference in society.

·  Your experiences promoting global understanding and/or the value of diversity in society.

·  A description of your work ethic and accomplishments that illustrate that ethic.

在此，我又要提一下如何全方位利用网络信息了。在浏览US NEWS的过程中，我留意了Essay Writing的专题，这里提供了一个网址www.essayedge.com，这是一个美国文书写作机构的官方网站，该机构提供代申请人修改、润色文书的服务，我一向坚持自己写作文书，但是，我知道在这个网站上一定有范文提供，所以，我登陆该网，并在其中找到了众多修改前和修改后的范文，以及文书写作建议，通过阅读这些范文，我也认识了该网站宣称的所谓“哈佛、耶鲁毕业生改出来的文书”，并对自己的文书写作有了一个规划。（wutheringbroom红脸提示：这又是一个用歪门邪道得到信息的方法战胜无知的案例！）
